Helios is built on two of the oldest materials in design: oak and marble. The oak is quartersawn, a cut that shows the straight grain and natural flecks and has been a furniture maker's choice for centuries. The Calacatta marble comes from the Tuscan mountains, used since Roman times. We paired them with clean, modern lines and very little hardware, so the materials stay the focus.
The same approach carries from the kitchen through the bar, the baths, and the outdoor kitchen. Nothing here is chasing a moment. These materials have already lasted hundreds of years, and they'll keep looking right in this house.

Kitchen
Contrast, Held Together
Two tones of quartersawn oak slab cabinetry, with a darker finish on the island and range hood. Calacatta Vagli marble runs full height behind the range with pattern continuation across the seams, and every countertop, island included, has a two and a half inch mitered edge for a thicker, more substantial look. The appliances are paneled or built in, including the coffee machine, so nothing interrupts the cabinetry. We chose this marble for its warm veining, which ties the two wood tones together.
Outdoor Kitchen
Built In, Not Added On
Leathered Taj Mahal quartzite, mitered to two and a half inches with a twenty four inch backsplash. We chose a leathered finish because it softens the look, hides wear, and holds up to sun and salt air better than polished stone. Dark raven ash cabinetry with slab fronts matches the interior style, a vertical hood anchors the grill wall, and every fixture is marine grade.
Bathroom
A Calm, Uncluttered Retreat
The palette stays soft: quartersawn white oak cabinetry, pale neutral stone, and a floating vanity with slab fronts. Layered tile on the back and side walls adds texture in a room with almost no color. Lighting is low and warm rather than bright.
Bar Area
A Room of Its Own
The bar is intentionally darker than the kitchen. Black woodgrain slab cabinetry, a glossy black subway tile backsplash, and open metal shelving give it a separate identity. A quartz countertop keeps it durable for entertaining.
